Who we are
The Commercial Professional Association of Goumenissa is one of the oldest Commercial Professional Associations in the country, as can be seen from the data of the first Statute filed on July 10, 1931, by the then President Dimitrios Papaioannou.
The purpose of its establishment was the organization and strengthening of trade in the coastal area of Goumenissa as well as the wider Paionia. Wanting to support professionals (mainly small and medium enterprises), he set as his goal the continuous struggle for economic progress of this province.
Today, in a critical era, when the current data is constantly changing, the role of the Association is increasingly decisive, constituting an essential support for the survival of trade, development and productivity.
Objectives of the Association: Since its foundation, it has set as its goal the study, protection, promotion, the defense of the economic, livelihood, work and moral interests of the members of the Association, as well as the development of professional awareness and social solidarity of the members. In particular, have the following purposes:
- The concern for the promotion of trade in general.
- The promotion of the individual interests of the members of the Association and the development of professional conscience and social solidarity among the members.
- The improvement in general of the economic, spiritual and moral condition of the trade.
The Commercial Professional Association of Goumenissa is a legal entity under private law and, as a free trade union organization that it is, is governed by the provisions of Law 1712/87 on “professional organizations of merchants, artisans and other professionals”.
Activities – Actions – Participations
In collaboration with the Chamber of Kilkis, the Commercial Professional Association of Goumenissa has contributed to the following programs:
- Participation in the Development Partnership “Work together for employment”, in the context of the implementation of the Action “Work together locally to fight unemployment in the Kilkis Regional Unit” entitled “Vocational Training Program for the Unemployed for the Acquisition of Professional Qualifications in the Operation of Social Enterprises”.
- Participation in the “Kilkis 2020/ Participatory Strategic Investigation of Development Prospects, Vision and Strategic Approach for Kilkis 2020” program, within the framework of the Development Conference.
- Participation in the effort to support the market of the Camber of Kilkis entitled “I Live Here, I Support Here”.
Actions abroad – Participation in the “Leonardo Da Vinci” program:
- Participation in a seminar on “Smart energy constructions” in Portugal (Leonardo da Vinci program).
- Participation in a seminar on “Good practices of e-commerce, B2B and B2C applications” in England (Leonardo da Vinci program).
- Participation in a seminar on “Brand Name Products” in Rome (Leonardo da Vinci program).
Participation of the Association in conferences, festivals, events and other social actions:
- Participation in a Results Presentation Day of the Aqua-M project “Joint actions for the effective management of water resources in the cross-border area”.
- Participation in the “Kername Greece” festival in Chania.
- Participation in the “Kername Kilkis” festival.
- Participation in the “Eleftheria Goumenissa” and “Wine Festival” events.
- Participation in the organization of the “Goddess Festivals 2011”.
- Organization of annual Christmas events since 2012, lasting a week, with the aim of strengthening commercial traffic in Goumenissa.
- Organization of an excursion to Pieria with the aim of two-way tourism enhancement of the two areas.
- Organization of a trip to Florina with the aim of developing the extroversion of the spirit of innovation and competitive production.
Actions:
- Submit programs that are under evaluation:
“INTERREG” program
“VALUE4TOURISM” program
ERASMUS program - Printing Wine list of local wineries and distributing them to all catering and entertainment outlets.
- Print Tourist Map.
Also, the Association played a role in critical issues such as the downgrading of Kilkis and Doirani customs, the closing of the Goumenissa Hospital, the operation of shops on Sundays, the sending of aid to Haiti.
